Kendra Scott is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor and a Professional School
Counselor in Washington, D.C. She received her Bachelors of Science in Communicative
Disorders from Ole Miss and her Masters of Education in School Psychology and
Counseling Services from Howard University. She is licensed through the DC
Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) and the Office of State Superintendent of
Education (OSSE).
Through her counseling work in telehealth and school-based settings, she has worked
with children and young adults in the District of Columbia. Kendra has served as a school
counselor, school-based mental health practitioner and a mental health therapist.
Kendra uses an eclectic therapeutic approach with a strengths-based focus. In her
service, she has utilized a wide range of intervention methods. These include Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT)
and mindfulness through individual/group counseling and social emotional learning.
She has worked with individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma, developmental and
learning disabilities.
Kendra believes that every person is unique and has the ability to capitalize on personal
strengths. As your therapist, she will assist in understanding oneself and the exploration
of unlocked potential to harness a healthy life.
