Insurance and Billing

Our Mental Health Therapists are preferred providers with Aetna, BCBS and United and our Registered Dietitian Nutritionists are all preferred providers with Aetna, BCBS, Medicare, United and Cigna. Please note the type of nutrition or mental health therapy coverage you have will depend on your specific plan contracted by your employer. 

To determine if medical nutrition therapy and/or mental health therapy is covered, you can fill out our insurance verification form  and we will check your benefits for you including the number of insurance visits, if there is a deductible, co-pay, or co-insurance necessary at your visit or if you have a limited number of visits per year. You can also contact your insurance company regarding your benefits, or contact us 24 hours after submitting your insurance verification form.

If you do not have nutrition benefits, ask your company’s benefits department to cover medical nutrition and/or mental health therapy. Benefits may be defined but not limited to, deductibles, co-pays, and co-insurance.

Please note our Licensed Psychologists and Psychiatrists are not in network at this time. Contact us or coordinate with your psychologist or psychiatrist and we will provide you with a superbill at each visit with the service and payment amount for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. 

If you are a new patient, please fill out our patient registration forms before arriving at your appointment.

For medical records and invoices we do charge $1 per visit. Please email us at appointments@washnutrition.com and we will send you an invoice to pay online then fax you your notes and invoices.

If you need a letter for your employer, lawyer or other entity we charge $60. Please tell your provider and our medical biller will send you an invoice to pay online then we will fax you the letter.

You can check your appointment dates and times, payment balance, and pay any outstanding balances using the patient portal below. Please note we update your payment balance including co-pays paid when your insurance EOB for your visit is processed, which can take 1 week to 1 month.
