Executive functioning testing will evaluate higher- level cognitive functions such as attention, impulse control, working memory, organizing and planning, idea formation, and moving between tasks. There are many different testing tools used to measure these skills, and usually each is measured one at a time. A memory test, for example is a test you take that shows how well you remember things said and shown to you.

After an evaluation with one of our licensed psychologists, they will customize a set of tests they think are the most applicable to you to measure your executive function, and then will review the results. Some patients need these results for their work or school programs, or may want to work on specific tasks at hand, therefore may be referred to a mental health therapy provider to guide therapy or a psychiatry provider so medication can be provided and management more effectively.
