Weight Loss Programs at WNCG

If weight loss is your only goal, or one of your goals, at your initial in office or virtual medical nutrition therapy assessment your dietitian nutritionist may recommend one of our preferred weight loss programs in addition to recommending the right amount of macronutrients and other nutrition markers necessary for you to achieve your weight and health goals and show you how to use our preferred food tracking software.

Everyone participating in one of our preferred weight loss programs must have an initial medical nutrition therapy assessment. Your dietitian nutritionist will then most likely recommend Medical Nutrition Therapy follow-up sessions weekly the first month, every other week the second month and then monthly thereafter to help you stay on track and accountable.

For more support we also have a private Facebook page support group monitored by one of our registered dietitians and a mental health therapist where patients can ask questions, view recipes and learn more about weight management strategies from our medical health therapists and each other.

Who should participate in one of our weight loss programs?

Patients who want to lose weight who benefit from being told exactly what to eat through a structured meal plan system they can physical see and comprehend who may or may not have specific nutrition or weight related health conditions such as but not limited to diabetes, high cholesterol, IBS, GERD, PCOS and high blood pressure.

How is participating in our of our weight loss programs different from Medical Nutrition Therapy Sessions?

In some cases our weight loss programs are not necessary to reach health and/or weight goals. Medical Nutrition Therapy is very individual and therapies vary on a case by case basis as other nutrition therapy interventions are proven to be more effective for a variety of medical nutrition conditions such as eating disorders, bariatric surgery, food allergies, nutrient deficiencies, EOE, and other Gastrointestinal diagnosis.

Do I have to follow a weight loss program if I want to lose weight?

If you have weight to lose and your dietitian nutrition does not recommend one of our preferred weight loss programs at your initial Medical Nutrition Therapy Assessment, as not everyone needs a structured meal plan to succeed, your Dietitian Nutritionist will recommend the right amount of macronutrients and other nutrition markers necessary for you to achieve your weight and health goals and show you how to use our preferred food tracking software. Your dietitian nutritionist will then most likely recommend Medical Nutrition Therapy follow- up sessions weekly the first month, every other week the second month and then monthly thereafter to help you stay on track and accountable.
