Sharlita Boyd is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW/LGSW) practicing in Maryland, and Washington D.C. Sharlita received her Masters Degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, where she specialized in Clinical Behavioral Health. Sharlita works with adults, often in life transitions or crisis.
Sharlita has expertise in treating the residual effects and manifestations of unresolved childhood traumas, commonly visible in interpersonal relationships, and throughout family conflicts. Furthermore, Sharlita has specialized knowledge in diagnosing and providing treatment for Trauma-And-Stressor-Related Disorders, Depressive Disorders, Adjustment Disorders, Dependent Personality Disorder, Insomnia Disorder, and Anxiety Disorders.
Sharlita has expertise in assessing, diagnosing and providing person-centered, and solution-oriented treatment. When applicable, Sharlita uses a combination of CBT, DBT, and MBSR models; in addition to providing a holistic touch, in attempts to address and heal the whole person (body, spirit, and mind). Also, to increase advocacy, Sharlita is currently studying effective treatments to better support clients with Eating Disorders.
