Jalen Graves is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) licensed in DC and telehealth. Jalen has experience working with Substance Abuse at the Inpatient and IOP levels along with cooccurring disorders that include depression, anxiety and ADHD. Jalen utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy while providing a person-centered therapeutic approach. Jalen also has experience working with the families of individuals and providing support as they learn to cope and support their loved ones. As a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Jalen also has experience in career planning, as well as navigating and adjustment to work environments.
Jalen has experience in a variety of setting including nonprofit community agencies, private healthcare facilities and state and federal agencies. In her clinical work, Jalen has worked with the Emerging Adults population but has experience across all diversities and age groups. She believes that no matter the age of background all people can benefit from learning new skills surrounding communication, coping, emotional regulation and caring for self.
During her work, Jalen hopes to emphasize client autonomy and a safe space to allow clients to explore thoughts, feelings and emotions. Jalen enjoys facilitating groups
Jalen received her Bachelor’s degree from Alabama State University and her Master’s degree from Georgia State University. A true Southern Girl. In her spare time, Jalen loves to spend time with her family and travel.
