Dr. Arthur Bennett is a licensed clinical psychologist who has been in practice for the past 30 years and during that time has acquired a diverse professional and educational background. Possessing advanced degrees in clinical psychology, behavior analysis, psychometrics, education, school psychology, and counseling, he has provided support to individuals and families in public and private hospitals/settings, and within the education arena. Starting his career in an admission office of a state run psychiatric facility in Northwest Georgia serving a diagnostically acute and chronic varied population, Dr. Bennett learned early on that the approach one takes while interacting with other human being can be the difference between success and failure in developing a strong therapeutic alliance and making lasting progress. Dr. Bennett obtained his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Fielding Graduate School in Santa Barbara, California and completed his residency at the Mississippi State Hospital and completed psychiatric grand rounds training through the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Additionally, he completed an Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a Master of Science degree in Applied Clinical Behavior Analysis and Psychometry from the Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama.
Dr. Bennett utilizes an integrative model of that combines Health Psychology, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, psychoeducation, and neurodevelopmental strategies to address concerns that clients present while in therapy. Throughout his career, Dr. Bennett has developed a sincere passion and obtained an extensive knowledge and experience base in providing individual and family therapy surrounding life issues including but not limited to:
