Dr. Ayoola Oyenuga (DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC) is a Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Board-Certified. She attended George Mason University, Virginia, where she earned a Doctor in Nursing Practice specializing in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry.
Her background includes working in various settings, such as behavioral health, medical-surgical unit, oncology dept, and orthopedic unit at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Her clinical interest is using Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) combined with counseling and behavioral therapies to provide a “whole-patient” approach to the treatment of mental health. She worked at Sheppard Pratt Health System and served the underprivileged population in Baltimore via Telehealth and on-site services. She currently works at Anne Arundel Counseling as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Some of her specialties are Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, ADHD, PTSD, Alcohol Disorder, and Suboxone maintenance. She has gained experience in providing patient-centered approach treatments for patients with mental health disorders. She has 3 beautiful children. She enjoys meeting people, helping people, and traveling.
Her doctoral research focused on implementing Evidence-Based Practice (EBP), a Motivational Interview (MI) education to providers at substance abuse treatment centers and mental health clinics for achieving behavior change.
