Christine Hanson Haas MS, LDN, CNS, CPT has been a licensed nutritionist in Maryland and Washington DC for over 16 years. She is certified through the American College of Nutrition. As Founder and operator of the Washington Nutrition & Counseling Group™, Christine is responsible for large mental health and nutrition counseling practice with over 30 mental health therapists and registered dietitians in four locations. She also Founder of Stellar Labs® Nutrition, a LowFODMAP protein shake, bar and supplement company. Christine is Global Director with Optavia® (formally known as The Medifast Weight Loss Program). She serves as a Nutrition and Fitness Director at multiple bariatric surgery centers and is the Director of Nutrition in multiple primary care, GI, fertility, food allergy, and plastic surgery physician offices in the Washington DC area. Christine is also a regular contributor to various health and wellness publications and media, including Northern Virginia Magazine and The Washingtonian. She is the author of three weight management books: WNCG™ Meal Plans for Fat Weight Loss™, Stellar Labs® The Low and Lean Lose Fat High Protein No Bloat Diet™, A LowFODMAP elimination diet plan featuring LowFODMAP Foods, and All Healthy Portions™; weight management for kids, teens and older adults.
Christine is also a member of the American Dietetic Association and holds a number of fitness and nutrition certifications, including The Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management from the American Dietetic Association. She completed a Master of Science degree from the American University in Washington D.C. in health and fitness management and a Master of Science degree in Nutrition Education from The University of Vermont. Her past work experience within the last 20 years includes serving as a middle and high school foods and nutrition teacher, director of nutrition programing and nutritionist for the former Sports Club L.A® at the Ritz Carlton in Washington D.C. (currently known as Equinox®). Christine is also an adjunct professor of nutrition at Montgomery College and is a nutritionist for Medifast® at corporate headquarters in Baltimore, MD.
